YITH Maintenance Mode

57 Quality Score

Active Installs

17/30

With only 5,000 active installs it is a niche pick that sits well behind the dominant Maintenance plugin at one million installs.

Update Freshness

9/25

The last update landed on 24 April 2025 and it is tested against WordPress 6.8.5, which is current, though the low activity raises questions about long term momentum.

User Rating

12/15

An 82 out of 100 from 27 reviewers is solid but the small sample size means it should be weighed lightly against plugins with thousands of reviews.

Support Health

8/15

Zero support threads and zero resolved tickets suggests either an extremely stable plugin or, more likely, that users have nowhere to turn when issues come up.

WP Compatibility

11/15

It requires WordPress 6.4 and PHP 7.4 or higher and is verified against 6.8.5, which is a reasonable and modern baseline for new installs.

What It Does

YITH Maintenance Mode displays a coming soon or under construction page to visitors while letting logged in administrators browse the live site normally. It is a focused single purpose plugin with no extra modules, add-ons, or upsells beyond the maintenance screen itself.

Who It's For

This is a good fit for small business owners, agencies, or freelancers who want a no-frills maintenance page from a vendor they already know and trust in the YITH ecosystem. It suits sites that only need a static splash screen and do not require landing page builders, email capture, or countdown timers.

Who Should Skip It

If you want countdown timers, email signups, SEO controls, access by role, or theme and branding customisation, look elsewhere because this plugin keeps the feature set intentionally minimal. Sites running on PHP below 7.4 or WordPress below 6.4 should also skip it due to the floor requirements.

The Bottom Line

YITH Maintenance Mode is a serviceable but unremarkable plugin that does one job without extras, scoring 60.5 out of 100 on PluginCheck. Given the weak support track record, tiny install base, and stronger alternatives like Maintenance or Slim Maintenance Mode, most users will get better value elsewhere unless they have a specific reason to stay inside the YITH family.

Related Plugins

Maintenance 88/100

Pick this over YITH if you want the most popular and battle tested option with one million installs and a much larger community behind it.

Hostinger Tools 87/100

Choose Hostinger Tools if you are already on Hostinger hosting and want maintenance mode bundled with other site utilities.

XO Security 83/100

Go with XO Security when you want maintenance mode combined with login protection and other security features in one plugin.

YITH WooCommerce Compare 82/100

This is not a direct competitor; it only matters if you are evaluating the broader YITH catalogue for WooCommerce tools.

Slim Maintenance Mode 80/100

Pick Slim Maintenance Mode if you want a similarly minimal plugin with a slight edge in quality score and double the install base.
